the unperturbation of mr. namric de hamrey.

memories are a special thing.
pieces of the past that clings to us.
your first bike ride, the feel of the sun at the lake,
yesterday's good news, last night's dinner,
your email password, that name, that face...

it gives the present dept, meaning, purpose.
it gives a direction to our future, a path, a course.

memories also burns us. the grip sometimes is too strong.
the past keeps of repeating itself like a broken record,
recurring again and again in our mind.
that one sick episode that you've wish you'd forgotten.
that lonely first day at a new school, the death of a loved one,
that stupid love mistake you keep on repeating.

angst, remorse, guilt, hatred...

"do you remember that day, on the beach?", you said to me.
i did not answer, it'll only drive the thorn deeper into my hearth, it hurts me now.
that constant stinging feeling, that tightness i feel in my chest everynight.
that thought... "i should have...", eternally tugging my mind.
making me wish that i could build a time machine somehow...

i know, i know... no amount of wishing could ever change the past.
people could only learn from them.

tsk, i hate this, i wish somehow i could erase my memory, the past, you..
i'll never learn, you would say. but i do, im masochistic in a way.
given the chance i'll do it again, and probably make that mistake once more.
just to be able to...

i guess there's no escaping you is there?
the only other way is to be a stone.
emotionless, apathetic, indifferent..
why forget when i can't feel?

but yesterday morning's sunshine was so beautiful...

if only...

i wish...

i should have...
